The Rutherford Centre for Reformed Theology exists to help people to think biblically and theologically. As 21stcentury Christians, we are living in a very different society from that of previous generations. The world is changing rapidly and the old ‘certainties’ of Christianity are increasingly being challenged and rejected by proponents of secularism and humanism. There are also many complex moral and ethical issues, to which we must offer a response. To bury our heads in the sand and wish for better days, or to retreat into Christian ghettos, achieves nothing. Rather, we must learn to think biblically and theologically, so that our response to difficult issues is not simply a knee-jerk, negative reaction but a carefully considered and robust biblical and theological answer. To accomplish this, our vision is to encourage scholarship and writing, to educate and train elders and other church leaders and to promote orthodox evangelical Christianity.
