Professor McGowan, Director of RCRT, is currently in the USA for the meetings of the Evangelical Theological Society and the American Academy of Religion/ Society for Biblical Literature, which this year is taking place in San Diego.

The RCRT is in discussion with various possible partners to offer two conferences in 2020 on the doctrine of the church, one intended primarily for academics and postgraduates, the other intended primarily for ministers and elders.  Watch this space for further details.

Many people have asked about the Dogmatics Conferences which Rutherford House has run for the past 35 years.  Be reassured, RCRT intends to continue these conferences.  The next conference will be in 2021 and will be on the doctrine of the church, in keeping with our current research focus on ecclesiology.

The RCRT is currently providing elder training for the Church of Scotland Presbytery of Lewis, with particular focus on those whom the Presbytery intends to set apart to preach. If your congregation or Presbytery or Synod (of any denomination) would like some elder training, please let us know.

The formal launch of the Rutherford Centre for Reformed Theology took place in Inshes Church, Inverness, on Friday 27th September at 7.30pm. The Director of the Centre, Professor Andrew McGowan, spoke about the vision for the Centre and the preacher was the Rev Ian Hamilton.
